Solid BM today! Wahoo!

Well today is a momentous occasion. After blood sweat and tears, I finally had one. Yes, that's right. A solid BM. Let me start from the beginning.

Today is Friday. On Tuesday, we started our work with a local men's shelter. This is like a halfway house for drug addicts and criminals and so on. The place had been left in charge of by one of it's former residents who is still in the process of recovering. So, needless to say, the place was in a state of slight disrepair. The person in charge of the house had only been there for two days. He had been there previously, but had taken a brake for the last eight months or so. He is twenty two years old from the Southwest, but speaks with an English accent. Yeah, confusing. Really nice guy though. He helped a guy get of drugs by not letting him out of his sight for 40 days in a row. I would have killed me if I had to hang out with myself for 40 days in a row, so you can imagine what kind of heart this guy has. My job was to clean out the storage above the bathroom. I was also supposed to keep a look out for various drug paraphernalia which may have been hidden up there. Among the dirty dishes and silverware and various other supplies like adult diapers and endless rolls of toilet paper, I found: a syringe, (no needle) two heroin spoons, a lighter and a suspicious bag of white powder. I was very careful not to get poked by anything.

Unfortunately, I couldn't be careful when they were gracious enough to invite us for lunch. We had fried eggs, fried potatoe flakes with fried meat and fried mystery stuff. With a side of canned peas and canned corn. It was really good after a long day of work. But I don't think the cook had his blue card.

I don't know if it was cleaning the storage or eating the food but the next morning, when I woke up I could barely move. My whole body ached, I was weak, pale, I had a fever and some mean diarrhea. I mean mean. So I slept. I slept through that entire day and all through the next night. I didn't eat, I only got up long enough to drink water and use the toilet. I slept for 37 hours straight. I didn't even really feel that great the next morning when I woke up. The worst part of it was not being sick, it was feeling like I lost a full day.

So, for me, today is a good day. I am all back to normal and everything is "functioning properly". It's the little things in life. Ya know?

(If your not sure what "BM" stands for, "B" stands for a word that ryhmes with owl, and the "M" is for "movement". If you need further help, check out this link and make sure to note the picture in the top left hand corner.)
